IELTS Writing Task 2(Sample Answer)

In the future, more people will choose to go on a holiday in their own country and not travel abroad on holiday. Do you agree or disagree?

In this era of globalization, long-distance travel for vacation has become a style statement of anybody’s life. Experts in travel industries predict that in the imminent period, this would gradually change to having a holiday in their nations. While the concept of spending free time in a new country is ideally justifiable, I strongly believe that we can enjoy quality time in our realm.
Since it would be a place where there is no acquaintance, it is an expensive affair in finding accommodation or the right food. For example, the visa processing fee and flight charges to a country like Switzerland can swallow the whole year’s savings of a family from Asia.
Additionally, it is worth it because there are several undiscovered and unvisited places in their very own locations.  These are of equal beauty and nature’s abundance and if one is inquisitive enough, the discovery of such places is a rewarding experience. For example, a tourist from India can visualize the same breathtaking sceneries in the snowy mountains of Darjeeling, as he would in the Alps. Even, there is no need to be pre-prepared or be accommodative to new cultural requirements.
To conclude, it is a waste of hard-earned money and effort to travel abroad on a holiday. Instead, it is wise to choose an equivalent option in local places. There is no point in discovering things outside when there are unexplored and exotic places in our own home country.
